The disemvoweling was my doing but nothing I did recently. It was running on autopilot watching for a few IP addresses and caught old SteveStory at ATBC redhanded posting under a several names.

I probably don't have access rights to undo the IP ban on you. That's done at the server management level not the Wordpress software. I didn't check to see if they changed the server password and even if they didn't I wouldn't get on it now that I said I'd be uninvolved.
However, you can get back on there if you want by using an anonymous proxy which changes the IP address that websites see from yours to the proxy's. I use them frequently. None of the pro-evolution sites that have me banned can actually stop me from posting on them with an anonymous proxy.

I was just following orders at UD.
My policy in all things, where practical, is called the "zero support policy". Whether you're selling software or running a blog you find that if the product is of good quality then 90% of the complaints come from 10% of the customers. The logical thing to do is give the 10% a refund and refer them to your competitor.
UD was no different. 10% of the commenters caused 90% of the moderation work so as soon as I identified a troublemaker I put them on the shitlist and referred them to ATBC. Problem solved. Identification and enforced banishment was a bit of a trick for the hard cases like Alan Fox, Steve Story, KeithS, and a few others. Tiax, Bob OH, great_ape, and few others who seldom if ever subject to moderation are living proof that I allowed the opposition to comment. You just had to be bright and civil at the same time which is trick most of the ATBC crowd can't perform.

UD is a good product (therefor worthwhile and useful? I don't want to put words in your mouth, so tell me if this is wrong).
We know this because problems come from only 10% of those familiar with it.
Well, how about Evolution is a good product, useful and worthwhile?
We know this because the "problems" (read: detractors) amount to only .1% of those familiar with it.
Shouldn't ToE be a way stronger product than UD on this basis?
This comment would never see the light of day on UD, even under your care. Why? It ask answerable questions formed in a logical manner.

I have no desire to antagonize DS. Just realize that if you knew more about his history with the fraternity at PT you would know that he had self-selected to be the object of the ridicule he draws. It seems a little disingenious to us to claim exhaustion now. But I am willing to stipulate that it qualifies as harassment to follow him all over the internet for the purpose of continuing the Evo/ID fight. I'll say no more about DS.

I got the whole rundown on Dave and PT. However, let me just say this.
Dave has never been anything but sweet to me and Kate, and he's only gone off here when he was deliberately poked in the eye.
As long as he continues to respect our blog, he will always be welcome here. Even some of the AtBC guys have remarked on how he's conducted himself here, and I would like to see him continue to comment here.
Now, THAT said, I'd also like to see you and the other evolution supporters continue here. Things have been a little testy lately, but I think JAD the WAD instigated most of that. I'd like to see that ended.
I want to come back to evolutionary science, there is a great deal I need to learn from you guys. But I want the conversation to return to civility.
